Sustainability

At OreCorp we believe the success of our business is underpinned by a strong commitment to all aspects of sustainable development with an integrated approach to economic, social and environmental management and effective corporate governance.

In Tanzania the company currently employs most of its Nyanzaga Project staff from local communities and sources the majority of its supplies from local providers. The Company has its own tree nursery on site and has grown and distributed over 12,000 tree seedlings to local schools, health centres & communities.

The Company has contributed to approximately 25 community projects costing over TZS 300 million including supplying water wells, building and refurbishing school classrooms and washrooms, fabricating school desks, supplying cement, sand and iron sheeting for various community buildings, upgrading roads and construction of the Ngoma Police Station.
